IF YOU DON'T ASK YOU DON'T GET

It’s a simple phrase, but in media and production travel, it can mean the difference between a seamless production and a logistical headache.
Recently our team assisted in travel plans for a large-scale overseas production. Crew members were travelling from multiple continents to a remote filming location, each with different schedules, equipment requirements and expectations. We had multiple planning meetings with different travel arrangers to understand exactly what was required of us. And how we could provide the best service possible.
We also had multiple internal discussions bouncing ideas off of each other on how we were going to make this work. It made me appreciate being part of a team that really can think outside the box.
The result: a production that moved smoothly, with crews arriving where they needed to be, equipment delivered on time and minimal disruption despite the complexity involved.
Can we negotiate flexible terms at the last minute?
Can we secure transport outside normal operating hours?
Can we find a solution when availability says “sold out”?
Can we make something happen that technically “isn’t possible”?
More often than not, the answer was yes!
And that's where specialist travel management makes all the difference.
THE LITTLE THINGS AREN'T SO LITTLE
It’s shoots like this that really showcase why Media Flights are so unique. There’s no lengthy chain of approvals when a client needs something unusual. We live for the unusual. We’re a small team that genuinely cares about the outcome and isn’t afraid to roll up our sleeves to find the solution.
As a result we came up with a solid plan. We offered a small dedicated team of agents that worked solely on this shoot. We extended our opening hours (including weekends) to cover multiple time-zones. We arranged dedicated check in desks for the crews travelling with a lot of kit.
These things all may sound small but they made a world of difference to the production company’s experience; because in our world, success isn't just about booking flights and hotels.
Sometimes the biggest difference comes from simply asking the question that nobody else thought to ask.
Because if you don't ask, you don't get.
